Although the list of rules we have separat is a bit long, the most important thing is to become aware of the risks that currently exist in the virtual world, taking into account how fundamental it is to learn to manage our digital security.

1. Use long and complex passwords

Avoid simple, easy-to-guess passwords, such as dates, names, or any of the passwords that we see on the worst passwords list year after year. Another key aspect: do not use the same password for more than one account. Password reuse is one of the worst security practices.

When creating a secure password, it’s best to keep it long. For example, phrases with up to 20 characters and that include letters, numbers, uppercase, lowercase and special characters. Don’t forget that spaces count as characters!

A good idea is to use a shadow making password manager, as these tools not only store login passwords in an organiz way for each of your accounts, but also provide the option to create truly secure and unique passwords.

2. Use two-step authentication on all your accounts
The next step towards good password management is to implement two-step authentication, also known as two-factor authentication, on every account and service you use.

Enabling this option provides an extra layer of security that will make it harder for an attacker to access your accounts, even if they have the victim’s username and password.
